Ashmi Shrestha (aka Asmee Shrestha, Asmi Shrestha and अश्मी श्रेष्ठ in Nepali) is the winner of the Miss Nepal Beauty Contest 2016. Prior to participating in the Miss Nepal competition, Shrestha was a model and TV presenter. She was the winner of Face of Classic Diamond Jewelers in 2014.
In the past, Shrestha has worked as a TV presenter in Channel Nepal and her modeling career spans more than half a decade.
In March 2016, Shrestha obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Ace Institute of Management, Kathmandu.
Shrestha participated in the Miss Nepal competition 2016 as contestant number 11. Apart from the Miss Nepal title, she also grabbed three subtitles: Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic and Best in Evening Gown.
Ashmi Shrestha was born in 1993 in Chitwan, Tandi, and spent most of her childhood there. Before joining Ace Institute of Management, she attended the prestigious Malpi International School in Kathmandu and completed her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams and also a higher secondary education in Management. Her father is a Kathmandu-based entrepreneur and in media interviews Shrestha says that she wants to follow her father’s footsteps in the future.
In the Miss Nepal contestant feature of the Nepali tabloid Kantipur Saptahik, Shrestha said that she loved listening to music and preferd casual dress up such as t-shirts and jeans. When asked about her participation in the Miss Nepal competition, she said:
“I have finally been able to used my 6 years of experience as a model. Miss Nepal 2016 is just another milestone which I want to achieve.”
Shrestha started her modelling career at the age of 16 by debuting in the Classic Diamond Jewellers in 2010. She was also featured in Sonam Tashi Gurung’s music video “Birsana Sakinna” in 2012.
