Early life and education
Savannah Bond was born on 6 June 1990 as Kelli-Anne Oxley in Wonthaggi, a seaside town located 132 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, Australia. Even though born in Wonthaggi, she spent most of her childhood on Philip island, an Australian island about 125 km (78 mi) south-southeast of Melbourne. Bond’s father’s name is Alan Oxley and her mother is Kathleen Oxley. While she later took up the name Savannah Bond as a stage or professional name, she continues to keep Kelli-Anne Oxley as her real name, for instance, on her passport.
For her high school, Bond attended the Mary Mackillop Catholic College, a girls-only Catholic secondary school in Werribee, Victoria, Australia. The school she attended maintained strict religious traditions and was connected to the Josephite sisters, a Catholic religious institution founded by Mary MacKillop, who was later declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
In an email interview with Wiki-Global, Bond said that even though she attended a prestigious school in her teenage years, she soon realised that the school was not for her and that she was eager to move to Melbourne and live a city life.
Life in Melbourne & Sydney before moving to Los Angeles, USA
Ultimately, Bond left high school and moved to Melbourne, where she took up ordinary jobs and studied beauty therapy. She also joined a nursing course but dropped out since she quickly lost interest in it. As someone who had studied beauty therapy, she was able to get a job at a skincare and makeup counter at a Melbourne-based shopping mall. After leaving the shopping mall skincare job, Bond joined a pharmacy in Melbourne where she managed its cosmetics section.
In media interviews, Bond often says that it was during her time at the pharmacy she realised that she was not enjoying what she was doing and that a career change was imminent. Around the same time, she had gone through a breast augmentation surgery and had gathered enough courage to try something that she had always wanted.
One day, Bond left the pharmacy for a lunch break and never returned to work there. Talking to AVN, she said that the experience empowered her and that she felt kind of a complete rejuvenation. She said:
I just felt like a different person. I was so over it and bored. I thought, imagine if I just left on my lunch break and never came back. And I was like, no, I can’t do that. It was getting close to 1 o’clock and I thought, well, actually I could. And I just walked out on my break…It was kind of like a movie, like one of those crazy things that you’d never really think you would do, but I did and I’m so glad I did.
Bond’s new job was drastically different from what she was accustomed to doing. After leaving the pharmacy, she began working as a stripper in a club named Goldfingers, an entirely nude club in Melbourne.
After her short stint at Melbourne-based clubs, she decided to move to Sydney, where she continued working as a dancer and stripper. In Sydney, she mostly worked at Showgirls, a club in Kings Cross, a suburb of Sydney.
Move to LA and career as an adult entertainer
Savannah Bond has said in interviews that she had harboured the dream of entering the adult film industry for years. After a few years in Sydney, she finally moved to Los Angeles, USA, in 2019, and her sole intention was to pursue her dream career in the adult entertainment industry and make a name for herself. Before moving to Los Angeles, she had performed as a stripper in several Australian clubs for over three years.
In February 2019, Bond debuted in the adult movie industry by filming with Jules Jordan, a popular director and producer in the industry. During her first trip to LA stayed for two months, shooting only for Jordan. I think if you have a job that you love, you don’t have to take a break…I think a huge part of it is I do naturally love it, so it’s not like you train yourself to like it…It does come naturally and it feels like the right thing—that’s first and foremost. And then just having a good support network and balance of work.
Personal life
In an online interview with WikiGlobal, Bond said that she loved summers and all the outdoor activities that one can do when the weather is nice outside. In addition, she revealed that if she had to pick one of her favourite activities, it would definitely be going to the beach. In interviews, Bond has often said that she is a seafood lover and loves eating out in restaurants with nice ambience and great musical vibes. As far as Bond’s musical preference is concerned, she has said that she admires hip-hop, pop, and house music, but does not limit herself to any particular musical genre, and listens to all types of music.
Bond has also publicly accepted that she had always been interested in adult entertainment, but because of her relationships, she had backed. On one occasion, she said:
I’d always thought about stripping since I was really young, but I never did it because I had boyfriends that didn’t want me to. I lived more of a normal life and tried to do regular jobs. But then I thought that I’m just going to do it. I had been thinking about it for so long.
Reflecting on her work-life balance and her working style, Bond told AVN magazine:
I don’t work every single day. I work three times a week, maybe four max. And I make sure I’m doing regular stuff, too, not always just working. I go to the gym, I work out, and I eat really healthy. I don’t do drugs. I think that’s what holds everything together.
In a reddit discussion, Bond elaborated more about her personal life and how she had put up with the industry. In one response, she said that there was a risk of getting a UTI in her profession and she had taken measures to mitigate that. She also said: “I find that when you are shooting a lot, my body has adapted and I take probiotics to really keep my body in regulation.”
When asked about her favourite sex position, Bond said that in private life she liked the missionary position because it was intimate. Whereas in movies, she preferred cowgirl.
When asked to describe herself in three words she characterised herself as outgoing, funny, and kind. She also said that coffee motivated her start a new day, cardio and running were her routine exercises, and eating healthy and spending time on the beach were her favourite time-killers. She also revealed that she immensely missed Australia from time to time, and that one day she wants to do skydiving.
