Early life & education
Yanet Garcia was born on November 15, 1990, in Monterrey, Mexico. She has often said that her mother, Anny Sanmiguel, had played an important role in her upbringing and that, as a child, she had been greatly influenced by her. When she was six, Garcia appeared in the 1996 TV series Access Hollywood.
From 2005 to 2016, Garcia attended the Mexico Internacional, a vocational school in Mexico City, and completed high school diploma courses in modelling as well as in virtual environments and simulation.
Garcia’s family had wished her to continue her education and take up an established profession. Her interest, however, was not so much in formal education, but in extra-curricular activities, such as drama, dancing, and modelling. Yanet Garcia: from a struggling model to an internationally famous weather reporter
Garcia began taking up modelling gigs when she was fifteen, i.e. when she was attending the Mexico Internacional. In 2013, Garcia took part in the Nuestra Belleza Nuevo Leon competition with the aim of competing in the Nuestra Belleza Mexico contest.
In the 2010s, Garcia, a struggling model, began looking for jobs. In 2013, she was hired by Televisa Monterrey to work as a weather reporter. Even though Garcia has been widely referred to as a ‘Mexican meteorologist’ or ‘the sexiest meteorologist’ in the world, there is no clear indication that she is, in fact, a meteorologist by training. In 2021, Writing for Mel Magazine, Brit Dawson cited sources that argued that Garcia had been hired just as a presenter and was not a weather expert or nor was she educated to be a meteorologist.
Garcia’s lack of a meteorology degree was not an issue for her fame. Within a relatively short time after joining Televisa Monterrey, Garcia’s popularity as an attractive weather reporter soared within Mexico but also outside. On 3 July 2015, a YouTuber with an account name Ozzy Man Reviews posted a minute and thirty-second long clip compilation of Garcia’s weather report appearances. The video was titled Yanet Garcia & Mexican Weather, and the description read: This is better than most movies at the cinema. The video became an instant hit, and as of 2022, has been viewed more than 46 million times. Below the video, one commenter wrote: “This video having 47 million views is proof that the Internet is a bunch of Weather forecast enthusiasts”, while the next commenter joked: “This video still is the most popular one on his channel. This just shows how fantastic the Mexican meteorological department is.”
In December 2019, the Daily Star reported that Garcia had left her job as a weather reporter to join her boyfriend, Lewis Howes, in California, USA. Garcia’s job was offered to Aleira Avendano, a model also known as Latin Barbie. Acting career
As Garcia’s popularity as a weather reporter began to grow, she also started accepting acting roles. She had already acted as a child actress in Access Hollywood. In 2015, she worked in the TV series Moneterry Al Dia. Garcia also appeared in the TV series Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017) and Bellezonismo (2019). In Sharknado 5, Garcia played the character of Chara.

Relationship with Doug Censor Martin (FaZe Censor)
Yanet Garcia is also popular for the relationships that she had had once she rose as a social media celebrity. In 2015, as Garcia’s international fame began to rise, she started dating Doug Censor Martin, a gaming YouTuber also known as FaZe Censor. FaZe and Garcia had connected through social media and were together for nearly three years.
